We drove up to Malaysia over the weekend with Glenn's parents, for Glenn to recce the places he plans to bring the Harley group and media next week for the media trip. Spent 1 night at Berjaya Times Square in KL city, which was really nice, and 1 night at Colmar Tropicale at Bukit Tinggi. KL's same same, nothing new. Couldn't shop much given that I can't buy clothes...but managed to meet up with Yoke Hui for pizza and a drink - it's always nice to catch up with old friends :)

I had purposely parked beside a handicap lot in the Times Square carpark so that we would have ample space opening the doors to take in and out our barang barang...but guess what, when we went down the next morning we found 2 cars squeezed into the handicap lot! Only in Malaysia lah...

Colmar Tropicale is an interesting concept...it's a French-themed resort 2,600m above sea level on Bukit Tinggi, which is the next bukit after Genting. It features a village modelled after a 16th century Colmar Village in France, complete with cobblestone streets and even a drawbridge. It's quite pretty, surrounded by lots of green and clear crisp air, but dreadfully boring. The only activities up there are golf, horseriding, a rabbit farm and strangely, a Japanese village complete with tea ceremony demonstrations, a Japanese garden and a Tatami spa...the whole area like suffering from an identity crisis.

Of course being so near to Genting and nothing to do at Bukit Tinggi, we made a trip to Genting Highlands after dinner. It was quite tedious going down 1 bukit and up another...Genting was huge and swarming with people, kinda reminds me of Crown but with lots more aunties and dodgy people. On the way home the next day we pit stopped in Malacca for lunch...so we managed to cover a lot of ground over the short weekend :) Hope to make 1 more trip somewhere by end of the year before it gets too uncomfortable to travel...
